Overthinking often begins quietly. A small thought becomes a thread, and before long the mind has turned that thread into a knot.
What helps me most is not trying to force the mind into silence. It is noticing the pattern early, pausing, and returning to something simple: the breath, the room, the body, the next small action.
The present moment is not always easy to stay with, but it is usually kinder than the imagined future we keep rehearsing.
The aim is not to silence every thought, but to stop treating every thought as an instruction.
